NOLA’s most famous Cocktail Chicks, Ti Adelaide Martin and Lally Brennan, are shaking things up with their latest publication, In the Land of Cocktails. Martin and Brennan give readers a greater insight to their family’s famous drink recipes, along with some of the many adventuresome stories that made them so wildly popular. This delightful publication will have you mixing the best ingredients in town while your jaw will be dropping over some of the hilarious stories of relatives and patrons in this flamboyant gastronomical diary of NOLA culture. Some of the stories include tales of what happened in the bathroom during World War II curfews, the need for great ice to make a great drink, Aunt Adelaide’s golden swizzle stick, and the parallel universe of Commander’s Palace’s “Little Room.” The book contains famous recipes of New Orleans cocktails including the Sazerac, Brandy Milk Punch, Absinthe Frappe, Ramos Gin Fizz, and even some new ones like the Break Tag and the Neutral Ground. Be sure to pick up a copy before all the big parties this year and the festival season begins, as it also covers Champagne Cocktails, as well as seasonal warm weather cocktails to keep you cool and spirited all year long.
